Studying of the Artificial Intelligence Systems and the Financial Performance for the Saudi Commercial Banks

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) systems on financial performance in publicly listed commercial banks in the Saudi financial market. The study explores the dimensions of AI systems, specifically expert systems, neural networks, and intelligent agents, and examines financial performance metrics for the Saudi commercial banks. The research employed a deductive approach to formulate research hypotheses by analyzing relevant previous studies. Additionally, an inductive approach was used to examine the practical reality, test the validity of the research hypotheses, and derive results through a field study of the primary sample. The research sample was 112 participants, including financial managers and IT managers from the Saudi commercial banks. Data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical software package. The study results showed that AI systems, represented by expert systems, neural networks, and intelligent agents, significantly enhance financial performance in the Saudi commercial banks and highlighting the added value of adopting AI systems in Saudi commercial banks. The most significant recommendations were prioritizing the implementation of expert systems, neural networks, and intelligent agents in Saudi commercial banks to boost the financial efficiency of banking institutions. Furthermore, the study emphasized the importance of organizing practical workshops to train banking personnel in utilizing these systems
